CHERNOMOR (BLACK SEA MAN), Ukraine. This is an indeterminate, mid-season variety (fruiting begins 2-2.5 months after transplanting), very productive. The plants are literally covered with large, meaty tomatoes weighing from 200 to 600 grams. The shape is round-flat, medium flesh density, with a thin but firm skin.
The fruit color is rich, with striking green-red and dark pink overtones that create an almost black appearance. In look and texture, it resembles the famous Black Pineapple variety. The main advantage of this tomato is its flavor: refined, slightly sweet, with light fruity notes that make it perfect both for fresh consumption and for salads and unique sauces.
The name of this variety is not unique — we previously had another tomato with dark fruits and an ordinary taste. However, about five years ago, a completely different variety with the same name joined our collection and quickly became one of the favorites. It may be a mislabel, but its quality is undeniable.
