CHEROKEE PURPLE HEART, PURPLE HEART OF CHEROKEE, USA. A mid-sized tomato variety with mid-early ripening and high productivity. The plant branches well without being overly dense, has large size, and forms complex clusters. Each cluster may bear more than ten fruits. The tomatoes are dense and resistant to cracking. This variety is known for its good disease resistance. Top marks for flavor and appearance!
The fruits are heart-shaped, dark pink with a purplish hue, meaty, and have a rich flavor, weighing up to 400 g. This line was discovered by Rock Angier (North Carolina) in 2009 as a selection from the Cherokee Purple variety. Since then, it has become a favorite among collectors. Fruit shape is heart-like, color is reddish-purple, with some fruits slightly flattened on the sides.
It ripens at a moderate pace; the bush reaches up to 1.2 meters in height, with thin stems and drooping leaves. Each cluster contains 3–4 fruits weighing 300–400 grams. Very attractive, large fruits. Productivity is average. The taste is intense and sweet with a rich tomato aroma, the flesh is juicy and melts in the mouth. Exceptionally delicious!
