BRANDYWINE FROM CROATIA, USA. Mid-season, tall, and high-yielding variety. The plants are strong, with potato leaves, all like twins. The first fruits weigh 150–200 g, then increase to 200–500 g. The largest fruit weighed 620 g. Height in open ground up to 1.5 meters. Clusters are short, and the fruits appear pressed together. The fruits are round, often with ridges or slight ribbing, very sweet, juicy, and extremely flavorful.
Abroad, this “Brandywine” is considered more productive than others. The maximum fruit weight in foreign descriptions reaches 1465 g. In the dry season of 2019, we obtained fruits of much smaller size. The seeds of this variety were sourced from France. We recommend this variety to all fans of juicy, vibrant beefsteaks. These tomatoes are great for slicing, preserving, or as a garnish.
A tomato contest was held, and a woman from Croatia presented this variety. That’s how Brandywine from Croatia arrived in the USA and became available to us, tomato growers. A late-season reproductive tomato with regular leaves. Also indeterminate and one of the highest producers among Brandywine lines.
