TENNESSEE SWEET. A mid-season, tall, and highly productive tomato variety, representing a true gem among traditional tomato cultivars. The history of this variety is unique: in 2003, its seeds were given to Harry Ibsen by a gardener from Tennessee, who claimed that they had been in his family for at least 50 years, demonstrating time-tested resilience and excellent flavor. The seeds of this variety were purchased by us in the USA, confirming the authenticity of the cultivar.
In open ground, plants reach about 2 meters in height, with strong, sturdy stems and potato-type leaves that provide excellent ventilation. The bushes form a generous number of inflorescences with large, beautiful fruits, making the variety especially appealing to lovers of homegrown and organic tomatoes. The fruits are pink, uniform, free of spots, round-flat in shape with characteristic ribs from the stem. They are large, weighing 230-400 g, with a firm, meaty texture.
The fruits tolerate transportation and storage well, are resistant to rot and cracking, making them ideal for both home use and sale. The variety is notable for synchronized fruiting: the fruits ripen simultaneously, providing a visually impressive appearance on the bush and convenient harvesting. The taste is excellent: soft, sweet with a slight acidity and rich aroma, perfect for fresh consumption, salads, and culinary use.
