DWARF LADY MADONNA. A 2021 novelty by Blaine Horton — a unique tomato variety resulting from a cross between the well-known Cherokee Tiger and Kosovo. It is a true gem for any garden, combining ornamental beauty, productivity, and excellent flavor. The plant is semi-determinate, reaching up to 1 meter in height. It has a sturdy, stocky stem, a well-developed root system, and simple, dark green foliage that is not prone to excessive density, promoting good airflow and reducing disease risk.
This is a mid-season variety with a long fruiting period, continuing from summer into autumn. It adapts well to both open ground and greenhouse or container cultivation. The fruits are elongated oval-shaped, resembling thick plums with a distinct “nipple” tip. Average weight is 80-120 g. The skin is pink with striking golden-yellow stripes.
The skin is firm but not tough, and the flesh is juicy and moderately dense. The taste is sweet with a subtle acidity — well-balanced and pleasant. Ideal for fresh use, salads, slicing, and whole-fruit canning. The variety tolerates heat well, resists cracking and common solanaceous diseases. It delivers a stable yield with uniform fruits.
