MAIDEN'S TEARS, MOMINI SĂLZI (Bulgaria). An impressive early giant, bright red heart weighing 1.06 kg!!! And this fruit ripened at the same time as mid-early varieties — by August 5th! With such early ripening and huge weight, the fruit has a perfect appearance — not a single crack or green shoulder! Mid-season, tall, very productive variety. Plant height on 15.07.21 reached 189-198 cm. The plants are vigorous, densely leafed, with many thick stems. Leaves are regular and broad. By 30.05.21, each plant had formed 12-13 flower clusters. The first fruits started to ripen between July 18-20. The variety is sensitive to calcium levels in the soil.
The fruits are heart-shaped, bright red on the outside, weighing 300-800 g, dense, crack-free and spot-free, and multi-chambered. On the cut: pink-red, fleshy, multi-chambered, very juicy, with a texture ranging from tender to medium-dense. The flavor has no pronounced sweetness, a light acidity, a rich profile with a pleasant aroma and aftertaste. When lightly salted — an absolute delicacy. According to the Bulgarian description, this variety is recommended as having a unique taste. Flavor rating: 5 out of 5. For very high productivity: 5+.
Seeds are few. All Bulgarian varieties are among the best of the season. The taste is excellent and truly worthy: dense, aromatic flesh, practically seedless, sweet, not watery, with a rich tomato flavor. A fantastic variety — repeat planting, repeat pleasure! The plant is powerful, 2 meters tall in open ground, and covered in fruit! Requires very strong support — mine couldn't hold, had to reinforce it! Fruits this year are just as giant — from 700 to 950 g! Top marks in every category!
