MONT DE MARATZ. A well-known tomato variety from Belgium. It is an indeterminate, late-season salad tomato with impressive productivity and decorative fruits. The plants are tall, strong, and well-leafed, reaching up to 1.8 meters in height. The variety is vigorous and requires proper staking and pruning. It performs best in greenhouses but can also grow well outdoors in favorable weather conditions.
The fruits are large, meaty, and rich red in color, with an original shape — most commonly heart-shaped or flat-heart-shaped. Rare, striking double fruits that resemble fused hearts can also occur. The average fruit weight ranges from 300 to 600 grams, but some specimens can reach 800 grams or even up to 1 kg. The flesh is dense, granular, juicy, and sweet, with a pleasant, well-balanced flavor without pronounced acidity.
This variety is perfect for fresh consumption, salads, sauces, and pastes — thanks to its rich color and thick texture. It is known for stable yields, especially with regular watering and fertilization. The fruiting period is long. A real gem for lovers of meaty, large-fruited, and uniquely shaped tomatoes.
