TIM’S BLACK RUFFLES. A recently stabilized variety, obtained by crossing “Black of Crimea” and “Zatopec Pink Pleated.” Bred by Tim M., the owner of CV Amishland Heirloom Seeds (USA). A mid-early, fantastically beautiful variety that impresses with the combination of an elegant shape and purple-chocolate coloring! The plant is vigorous, very sprawling, up to 1.5 m tall, and requires staking and pruning to achieve maximum yield. Each truss carries 4-5 fruits weighing up to 200 g.
The variety is not suitable for whole-fruit canning, but the juice is truly unique—dense, aromatic, and of a rich dark color. The flesh is firm, meaty, and at the same time melting in the mouth. The flavor is distinctly sweet, with a light fruity note and juiciness that makes the fruits especially desirable for fresh consumption. This tomato can be considered not only delicious but also decorative: its unusual shape and rare coloration make it a true highlight of any collection.
The fruits are a true ornament of the garden: large, round-flat, with pronounced ribbing that gives them a noble and slightly “antique” look. Their coloration ranges from deep purple to chocolate-black with attractive highlights, making them look unusual and instantly stand out among other varieties. The skin is delicate and not too thick, so the fruits are best consumed fresh or processed into juices and sauces.
