NAIROBI NIGHT, Kenya. An exotic African tomato variety originating from Kenya. Mid-season, semi-determinate (medium-height), and exceptionally productive. It sets fruit reliably even under unstable weather conditions. A true discovery for gardeners looking for an unusual yet dependable variety with exotic origins. It also shows high resistance to diseases, making it an excellent choice for both experienced growers and beginners. The plants form neat, sturdy bushes with dense, dark-green, healthy foliage free from disease symptoms. In open ground they reach about 1.2 m in height and perform best when grown with 2–3 stems. Each truss produces 3–5 large fruits.
The tomatoes are fleshy, firm, weighing 150–350 g, with slight ribbing around the stem. Even when fully ripe, they remain firm and are resistant to cracking. Fruit color ranges from deep red to burgundy with a subtle purple tint, depending on growing conditions. The flavor is rich and sweet, complemented by pronounced fruity notes, pleasant balanced acidity, and an intense tomato aroma. The fruits are highly versatile—excellent for fresh salads, sauces, juice, baking, and whole-fruit preserving. During tasting trials, the variety received the highest possible score—5 out of 5 for yield, flavor, and appearance.
