As a seedling, this tomato looked nice and promising — it grew well, though nothing extreme. I planted it in the greenhouse, on a side bed near the entrance window. I’ll admit, I didn’t really prune or shape the plant — maybe just a bit at the very start. But it had enough space. It grew quite wide and reached about 1.3 meters tall.

For a while, it just sat there doing nothing. Then suddenly, it started setting fruit like crazy — lots of them. Now it’s covered in greenish-olive striped balls, looking a lot like Striped Chocolate. I really liked the flavor!

This year I started seeds in late February. The seedlings stayed compact and didn’t get leggy. I kept them on a windowsill on the balcony, without any additional lighting. The Stringi types are definitely different from regular dwarfs, but they also stay short and grow strong and sturdy. They set fruit continuously, were the first to ripen (even earlier than the heart-shaped varieties), and the last to finish.

I tried growing them outdoors the first year — didn’t like it: they wouldn’t ripen, got sick, and the flavor was bland from the rain. And I just don’t have the time or energy to move them back and forth. Now I grow only in the greenhouse. I don’t just like dwarfs — I love them. The fruit texture of the ones I liked is truly unique. If a dwarf is just average, I don’t grow it again — there are plenty of indeterminates that are more productive and store better.

I was amazed by its vigorous growth and high productivity! One of the best dwarf varieties from this project. I grew several plants in a polycarbonate greenhouse - strong bushes with sturdy stems. They handled being trained into 3-4 stems with no problem. Surprisingly, not a single fruit set was dropped, and they produced plenty of fruit!

The fruits are dark olive with a cherry-colored blush, turning purplish-olive when fully ripe. They weigh between 100 and 300 grams. The flesh is dark cherry-colored, juicy, meaty, and sweet! In the greenhouse, the plants reached up to 1–1.2 meters tall.

In my polycarbonate greenhouse, the leaves got sick, they developed a brown edging. I tried everything: watered and sprayed with zinc sulfate, magnesium fertilizer, treated with Ordan, and used nettle infusion. But the brown edges on the leaves remained. The yield was average. The plant reached 60 cm in the greenhouse. I didn’t get tomatoes as beautiful as the ones in the last photo.

I also grew this variety in the greenhouse it reached about 70 cm tall. I didn’t remove any suckers. It was productive, with beautiful and tasty fruits.

My tomatoes of this variety turned out darker than the ones shown here. Both the skin and the flesh, especially those grown outdoors. The fruits have a very unique color: pinkish-purple-olive with an anthocyanin sheen near the stem. And yes, the flavor is absolutely amazing! You just have to get the watering right, otherwise they crack. Outdoors, they cracked from the rain. The yield was very good.

I grew the Thong in the greenhouse, but I didn’t like the taste. It also had blossom-end rot. Cassady was much better, more beautiful and tastier. I’ll definitely grow that one again.

Height: up to 1.5 meters, mid-season variety. Trained into 3-4 stems. Each cluster has 5-6 fruits, weighing 100-300 grams. The fruits are dark olive with a cherry-colored blush, turning purplish-olive when fully ripe. The flesh is dark cherry, juicy, meaty, and sweet. Best for fresh eating. The plant is wide, moderately vigorous, with few side shoots. Heat-tolerant!

This variety stunned me with its vigorous growth and exceptional productivity! Truly one of the finest dwarfs in the project. My polycarbonate greenhouse specimens developed robust bushes with sturdy stems that handled 3-4 stem training with ease. Remarkably, not a single blossom dropped - every flower set fruit!

The fruits transition from dark olive with cherry blush to fully ripe purple-olive hues. Weighing 100-300 g, their deep burgundy flesh offers juicy, meaty sweetness. Greenhouse plants reached 1-1.2 m tall.

Given these results, I suspect Stringy would perform equally well in large containers. A hypothesis worth testing next season!

Only 3 of 5 seeds germinated - after a full month! Nursed it carefully. Gorgeous plant with delicious, well-balanced sweet flavor. Fruits weighed 80-120 g. Yielded surprisingly well despite refusing to set fruit during heatwaves. Sun-dried beautifully with exceptional color. Suckers rooted easily, and it started ripening very early.
