1884 YELLOW PINK HEART). This variety originates from the USA, a spontaneous cross between “1884” and an unknown yellow tomato, developed by Darrel Merrell. Indeterminate, mid-season, and high-yielding. The fruits are giants with a very attractive appearance. Light yellow, slightly flattened, sometimes with a pink blush on the top. A very beautiful aroma with citrus notes, bright, truly sweet flavor, juicy and meaty flesh.
Fruit weight is 400–600 grams, up to 800 grams. The variety is very similar to the popular “1884” tomato. Same excellent flavor, size, shape, and plant characteristics. A wonderful old heirloom tomato said to have been discovered by James Lydie Williamson near Friendly, West Virginia, among debris from the 1884 Ohio River flood. A personal favorite of Gary Ibsen and a priority in his annual tomato planting.
