ABBITISTA, ABBATISTA, USA. A variety you'll fall in love with at first sight—and for a lifetime! One of the largest pepper-shaped tomatoes! Mid-season and impressive in every way: huge, bright red, heavy, juicy plum-shaped fruits with slight longitudinal ribbing, about the size of a palm, free of cracks and green shoulders. The minimum fruit weight is 250-300 g. The flesh is solid, without hollow cavities, exceptionally flavorful, sweet, and aromatic.
Plants grow up to 2 m (6.5 ft) tall by the end of the season in open ground, producing strong, thick stems. Each cluster bears 3-5 fruits, and the plants continue producing until frost. An exceptionally productive and dependable variety that never disappoints. The fruits are truly versatile: they make an outstanding thick tomato paste, are excellent fresh in salads, and are also perfect for drying. One of the finest pepper-shaped varieties in my collection—a timeless favorite!
