ACORN BRANCH. A rare heirloom variety that has been grown in North Carolina since the 1950s. A true find for connoisseurs of authentic, time-tested tomatoes with deep flavor and character. The fruits are elongated, graceful in shape, colored a rich chocolate-brown with dark green shoulders. A small characteristic "tip" is noticeable on the lower part. The average fruit weight is 50-80 g, making them especially convenient for whole-fruit canning. The plant is powerful and vigorous, with characteristic drooping simple foliage. Bush height in open ground up to 1.5 m, in a greenhouse about 1.7 m.
The flesh is very dense, meaty, with a rich, full flavor typical of dark-fruited varieties: deep, slightly sweetish, with noble spicy notes. These tomatoes are excellent for sauces, paste, baking, and pickling — the flavor becomes even more pronounced when processed. It is distinguished by very high yield and stable fruit production throughout the season. An ideal variety for those looking for a reliable, productive tomato with classic flavor and excellent culinary qualities. Recommended for cultivation in open ground.
