AKTEON. A mid-season, large-fruited sweet pepper variety of universal use. Distinguished by stable yields and excellent taste. Suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses. The plant is determinate, compact, with a strong root system. The bush usually reaches 50-70 cm in height, but under drought and without irrigation it can remain short (about 30 cm) while still maintaining high productivity. The leaves provide good protection for fruits against sunburn. Fruits are conical-prismatic in shape, weighing 200-300 g. At the technical stage they are light green, at the biological stage – bright red.
The flesh is juicy, crisp, sweet, with a wall thickness of 6-8 mm. The variety is versatile: ideal fresh, for stuffing, processing, and preservation. Ripening period: technical maturity – 65-75 days, biological maturity – 90-100 days after transplanting. Akteon is tolerant to fusarium wilt and verticillium, adapts well to various growing conditions, and maintains yield even with minimal care. Best predecessors are onion, cucumber, cabbage, and leafy greens.
It should not be planted in the same spot more often than once every 3-4 years. The plant responds well to fertilization. For maximum fruit size, bush formation and crop regulation are recommended. Advantages of the variety: high and stable yield, excellent flavor, attractive commercial appearance, long shelf life, unpretentiousness, and resistance to stress conditions.
