AMOS COLI, USA. An old family heirloom from the Santa Clara Valley, California. Tall, mid-season, medium-yielding variety. Dense and vigorous bushes. Huge, beautiful plum-shaped fruits, very firm and meaty, with a wonderful, well-balanced flavor. Excellent for fresh eating, and the smaller ones are great for canning. Fruit weight ranges from 150 to 300 grams. Plant height – 1.5 meters.
An ideal variety for preservation. Small red elongated fruits. The flesh is paste-like, with little to no gel or seeds. Excellent plant, regular leaf, indeterminate growth. Heirloom tomato varieties are those cultivated over decades or centuries. They are preserved through traditional seed saving, without genetic modification or modern hybrid breeding.
This heirloom tomato originates from Santa Clara Valley, developed through a cross made by a man named John. He grew tomatoes for 50 years before giving it to Amos Coli, who in turn gifted it to Brad Gates in 2012. This happened at the National Heirloom Exhibition in Santa Rosa. We gave it 5 out of 5 stars in all categories. The seeds were purchased in the USA.
