ANDINE CORNUE, South America - France. This is an old variety from South America. Late-ripening, tall, and highly productive. Vigorous, disease-resistant plants with semi-potato foliage. Fruits up to 18 cm. long, dense, solid flesh, nearly juice-free, and very few seeds. Slightly sweet without acidity, with a mild flavor. Plant height — 1.8 m. Fruit weight ranges from 150 to 330 grams. When cut, the melon-like flesh breaks easily and can be eaten like a cucumber. “Andine Cornue” is one of our best varieties in both flavor and yield.
Also known as Cornato des Andes or Tomato Pepper. Considered one of the best among Latin American tomatoes. Discovered in Peru and brought to France in the 1950s by an agronomist specializing in tropical agriculture. Shaped like a pepper, bright red in color, with little seed content and almost entirely fleshy. Low in acidity, easy to digest, and aromatic. Seeds were obtained from France.
