AUNT IVANKA'S RED HEARTS, Romania. A family heirloom from the household of Tanti Ivanka, who lives in the village of Malu (Malu), located in Giurgiu County (Giurgiu), Romania. This is a mid-season, large-fruited variety that impresses with its size and the strength of its plant. The tomatoes are red and heart-shaped, maintaining this form even at their substantial size. Remarkably, the fruits do not crack and ripen fully.
Average fruit weight is between 650 and 800 grams. The flesh contains few seeds, with small seed cavities; inside it’s all solid “meat.” The flavor is rich, balanced, full-bodied, and aromatic. The plant matches the fruit in scale: it reaches up to 2.1 meters outdoors, is sturdy, densely foliated, and has thick stems. It performs well when formed into 2-3 stems. Ranked among the top three largest varieties of the season.
