AUNT SOPHIE'S TOMATO, USA. This is a mid-season, medium-sized tomato variety with a classic leaf type. The fruits are varied, mostly heart-shaped, with a thick and sturdy skin that resists cracking. They are remarkably firm, allowing transportation over long distances. The flesh is meaty and multi-chambered, with a rich flavor and a very pleasant aroma. The average weight of the tomatoes ranges from 250 to 450 grams. Seeds were collected in 2024.
The variety originates from North America and is considered rare. The fruits resemble beefsteak in structure, often having a blunt heart shape with a noticeable rib on the top and rounded "shoulders." When ripe, the color changes from bright yellow to deep orange. The plants are strong, with dense foliage and indeterminate growth. Fruiting begins mid-season, but peaks in the latter half. From then on, the tomato is noted for its high yield.
