AUNT SVARLO'S DELIGHT RED. An old family heirloom from Poland that has gradually become a true treasure for tomato collectors. Today, several color variations of this series are known — red, orange, and pink. The red form stands out for its especially large fruits, high productivity, and wonderfully rich flavor. This is a mid-season, indeterminate variety with a powerful, spreading plant. In the open ground, the plant grows to approximately 1.8 m, develops large dark-green foliage, and sets fruit very well. The tomatoes are very large and heavy, usually weighing around 400–600 g.
On the lower trusses, they are shaped like broad, flattened hearts with pronounced longitudinal folds, while higher up the plant they become more elongated and plump, resembling large heart-shaped plums. The flesh is bright red, exceptionally meaty and dense, with practically no hollow spaces or tough veins. The seed cavities are small and there are very few seeds, leaving almost nothing but dense, aromatic flesh inside. Despite their impressive size, the fruits ripen without pronounced green shoulders and retain an attractive, even color.
Each truss usually produces 2–3 fruits, while the overall productivity of the variety remains high. The flavor is rich and pronounced, with a true, full-bodied tomato character and pleasant sweetness. The aroma is especially impressive — very powerful, deep, and exceptionally appealing, making this variety stand out even among other large-fruited tomatoes. It is an excellent choice for those who appreciate heirloom collector varieties with large fruits, dense meaty flesh, and a truly rich, intense tomato flavor.
