AUSTRALIAN (AUSSIE). A mid-to-late-season, outstanding large red tomato with heavy fruits weighing 550 g. and more. All fruits are large, very aromatic in taste, with dense flesh, sweet with a slight acidity, and a rich tomato flavor! Excellent in all aspects! The plant reaches 1.7 m. in open ground, strong, with sturdy stems. The number of fruits per plant is limited. A tall, mid-season, high-yielding variety. Giant fruits withstood the severe droughts of 2015 and 2018.

The skin is red, not thick, the flesh is meaty, very juicy, and tender. The taste is good but not very pronounced (not explosive), mild, and becomes more vibrant with salt. Perfect for juices and cooking. In the 2018 season, three days of July rains following a month-and-a-half-long drought caused fruit cracking. To prevent this, it is important to maintain relatively even watering (about once a week). One of the top 20 favorites of the world-famous tomato Gary Ibsen.

  • Size: Large, weighing up to 500 g or more.
  • Shape: Flattened round, slightly ribbed.
  • Texture: Dense and meaty, with minimal juice, making them ideal for slicing.
  • Flavor: Varies by variety, but typically rich and sweet with minimal acidity. Some varieties have a milder taste.
  • Usage: Excellent for sandwiches, salads, tomato sauces, and casseroles due to their firm texture and low juice content.
  • Nutritional value: Rich in vitamins C and A, as well as the antioxidant lycopene, which is beneficial for heart health and may reduce the risk of certain types of cancer.

Varietal mix-up: unfortunately, in some cases, the seeds you receive may contain a mix-up — when a different variety is sent instead of the one you ordered. If this happens, please let us know right away. To help us resolve the issue, provide the following details:

  • the name of the variety you ordered and which one you received instead;

  • the approximate date of purchase (month and year);

  • how exactly the variety differs.

Please note: if the mix-up is due to the variety's instability or natural segregation (especially with rare blue or variegated types), we cannot influence that. These are the results of the breeders’ work, and such cases can occur.

If the error is on our part, we will gladly offer a replacement or refund for the specific variety. Replacements are available within 6 months from the date of purchase.
