BANANAS NOIRE (BLACK BANANAS). A rare and very promising variety with outstanding taste qualities. The plants are very vigorous, indeterminate, up to 1.8 m tall, with excellent growth strength and high productivity. The fruits are elongated, of the large cherry or small salad tomato type, weighing 80-140 g. The color is unusual and striking: a green base with pink strokes and a dark "tan" characteristic of the Ananas Noire line. When fully ripe, the fruits look exotic and very decorative. The flesh is juicy, tender. The taste is a real "candy": exceptionally sweet, rich, with a fruity-spicy aroma.
Tasting score — 5++. According to the breeder's information, the sugar level often reaches BRIX 9-10, indicating outstanding sweetness (we personally confirm — the variety is indeed very sweet and tasty). The variety is the result of an accidental cross between Ananas Noire and an unknown cherry tomato, carried out by Lauren Blanchard Zalewski, also known as Mr. and Mrs. Tomato Head (FB, Instagram). Essentially, it is a reduced version of Ananas Noire, but with even more pronounced sweetness and depth of flavor.
At the moment, the variety may not yet be fully stable, although breeding work has been ongoing for several years. Nevertheless, it shows high yield, stable fruit set, and excellent taste qualities. We are delighted to offer this variety in the 2026 season, as it made an exceptionally strong impression: very sweet, productive, and truly unique. An excellent choice for collectors, gourmets, and connoisseurs of rare, high-sugar tomatoes.
