BERKELEY TIE DYE GREEN, USA. A variety developed by Brad Gates, this is a green variation of the well-known "Berkeley Tie Dye". It is mid-season, vibrant, and visually striking with a beautiful bicolor appearance. The fruit shape is flatter than that of the original Berkeley Tie Dye. In terms of color, the flesh resembles the main variety, showing green tones with red streaks in the center.
This is a tall, mid-season, and high-yielding variety by Brad Gates—a green-fruited version of Berkeley Tie Dye. It adapts well to different climate zones. The fruits are stunning, with yellow-red-green coloration both inside and out, and have an excellent taste. The plant reaches about 1 meter in open ground. Its stems are not very strong, and each cluster bears 2-4 fruits weighing 100–130 grams. The yield is moderate. The taste is worthy—sweet and juicy.
It has a pleasant fruity flavor with noticeable acidity, which doesn’t spoil the taste but rather adds a touch of exoticness. According to descriptions, fruits can weigh up to 300 g, and in some cases even up to 460 g. They are very meaty and resistant to cracking. The flesh is creamy and tricolor. Each color contributes its own flavor, resulting in a very rich, yet sweet taste, with perfectly balanced sugar and acidity.
