BERKELEY TIE DYE HEART, USA. A variety by Brad Gates, a variation of the Berkeley Tie Dye tomato. Indeterminate, mid-season, and high-yielding. The fruits are brownish-red with green stripes. The flesh is red with green and yellow marbling. Fruit shape ranges from heart-shaped to slightly flattened, weighing up to 200 grams. The tomatoes are meaty, very tasty, sweet, and attractive. A mid-early, bright, and very decorative bicolor. Main color: green with purplish-brown stripes radiating from the base in all directions. The flesh is oily, reddish-brown. I really liked the Berkeley Tie-Dye Heart variety, just like the other ones in this series. The fruits were beautiful, large, sweet, and juicy with a meaty texture. They were heart-shaped, raspberry-colored with stripes. In the greenhouse, the plant grew to nearly 2 meters tall.

I really liked this variety, it had a long fruiting period, was tasty, and very productive. It grew in a greenhouse with some partial shading from the sun. By September, the plant had reached a height of 1.7 meters.

I planted both *Berkeley Tie Dye* and *Berkeley Tie Dye Heart*, but later the seeds got mixed up. Most of the fruits I harvested were flat and round, with just a couple shaped like hearts. I think they were probably *Berkeley Tie Dye*, but they might have actually been *Berkeley Tie Dye Heart*.

Either way, I really want to write about this variety because it's incredibly beautiful and very productive. The flavor is good too, but they all ripened at once when I had already eaten so many tomatoes, so I wasn’t as excited about them at the time. I had to act quickly and ended up drying the gorgeous fruits. And then in the winter, when I used the slices in a salad — both my husband and I were completely charmed!

It grew in a greenhouse, it's an indeterminate variety with regular leaf type. The fruits are heart-shaped, deep burgundy-brown with green stripes, and the flesh is burgundy-colored. Each fruit weighs around 200-250 grams. A truly outstanding variety!
