BETTA. A time-tested ultra-early variety that is deservedly considered one of the most reliable compact tomatoes. Thanks to its exceptionally early maturity, ease of cultivation, and consistently high productivity, it has remained a favorite among gardeners for many years and is an excellent choice for obtaining the very first tomato harvest. The growing season lasts only 90-95 days. In terms of earliness, Betta trails only the very earliest varieties by about one week to ten days, while consistently producing a concentrated harvest even under less-than-ideal weather conditions.
The plant is determinate, compact, and grows up to 50 cm (20 in) tall. The bush is sturdy, well-foliaged, and requires little to no suckering, making maintenance especially easy. Because of its abundant fruit production, light staking is recommended, particularly when grown in containers or pots, so the stems can better support the weight of the numerous fruit clusters. The fruits are round, smooth, deep red, and weigh 45-60 g. Each truss produces 4-5 uniform tomatoes that ripen simultaneously.
The fruits develop a full red color without green shoulders around the stem, have a firm skin, rarely crack, and retain their attractive appearance for a long time. The flesh is juicy, meaty, aromatic, and contains only a small number of seeds. Thanks to their firm texture, the fruits are excellent not only for fresh consumption but also for whole-fruit canning, pickling, and preserving, maintaining their shape after processing.
FLAVOR
The flavor is rich, classic tomato, and perfectly balanced. Pleasant natural sweetness combines harmoniously with a light refreshing acidity, creating a bright and expressive taste. The fruits are highly aromatic, fully ripen on the plant, and leave a pleasant aftertaste, making them an excellent choice for fresh salads as well as everyday use. Betta is distinguished by its excellent adaptability, ease of cultivation, and consistently reliable yields.
The variety performs equally well in open ground, greenhouses, containers, and large pots, making it an excellent choice for small gardens, balconies, and urban gardening. It is one of the finest ultra-early compact tomato varieties, combining rapid maturity, simple cultivation, dependable harvests, and a rich classic tomato flavor. A reliable variety that delights gardeners year after year with beautiful, aromatic, early-ripening fruits.
