BLUE DWARF, Russia. Variety breeder: Zhegalin N. V. First introduced in 2020. A compact, sturdy plant with strong stems. The bush does not exceed 50 cm in height and, according to gardeners, grows and fruits excellently in pots and planters with minimal soil volume. It continues fruiting outdoors in containers until frost. The bush is determinate and sturdy, but will need support or tying during fruiting. Suitable for container growing.
Fruits are flat-round, beefsteak type, weighing 100–250 and up to 350 grams. Dense, meaty, with blue anthocyanin shoulders and a dark red top. Pleasant taste without acidity. Suitable for universal use. When fully ripe, the shoulders are completely covered with violet-black anthocyanin. The flesh is rich red, juicy, and tasty, with a pleasant aftertaste. A highly productive variety under any conditions — in a greenhouse (indoors) or open ground.
DWARF TOMATOES:
Dwarf tomatoes are compact, determinate varieties ideal for growing in limited spaces, such as balconies, containers, or small gardens. These varieties were developed to retain the rich flavor and diversity of forms typical of indeterminate tomatoes, but in a more compact habit. Some popular varieties include:
-
Dwarf Sweet Sue — a yellow-orange tomato with a mild, sweet flavor.
-
Dwarf Emerald Giant — green tomato with amber tones when ripe, very flavorful.
-
Purple Heart — dark purple heart-shaped tomato with a good sweet-acid balance.
-
Dwarf Beauty King — a red-yellow bicolor with fruity, sweet taste.
-
Dwarf Arctic Rose — an early pink variety with soft flavor and juicy flesh.
These varieties show good disease resistance and perform well in various climates.
