BLUE FRUIT, Estonia. A mid-season variety with an unusual color — a blend of bluish-gray, violet, and burgundy tones. The plant reaches about 1 meter tall when grown outdoors, sturdy and resilient. Each cluster produces 4-5 fruits weighing between 150 and 250 grams. The fruits are round-flattened in shape. At the base, you can see emerald “shoulders,” but when cut open, the fruit is fully ripe.

It is a short-statured plant with potato-like leaves. The fruits have a rich dark color both outside and inside. It is highly productive. The fruits are fleshy and aromatic. In the 2022 season, the taste was very good — rated around 4+. The tomatoes are round, violet-gray, with a pronounced and rich tomato flavor, weighing from 150 grams. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, and slicing.

REVIEWS AND HISTORY:

Online, this variety receives exclusively positive feedback for its taste. Since 2022, plant height has been about 60 cm, whereas in 2017, the bushes reached over one meter. Western European sources often describe this variety as tall-growing, similar to ours. We do not prune side shoots, but the difference in height is noticeable.

This tomato has an interesting history: originating in Estonia, it traveled through France and America, then was improved in the Netherlands. It is grown in both moderate and southern regions. Our seeds were obtained from Canada. The flesh is dark red, aromatic, with small seed cavities. The skin is firm, but the flesh is juicy and tender, with a sweet and slightly tangy flavor.
