BLUE JOLLY. This variety is also known as Blue Fire. Its origin is a fortunate accident, resulting from self-pollination by Belgian breeder José Antoine. It is a mid-season, tall, and highly productive tomato. It stands out due to its extraordinary beauty and excellent taste! The fruits are multi-chambered, weighing between 150 and 250 grams, with firm and juicy flesh. The fruit color is very rich and vibrant — yellow-orange with anthocyanin spots and a pink sunburn tint.
Yield is above average. Towards the end of the season, the flavor becomes even sweeter with hints of tropical fruits. In sunlight, the fruit’s coloration becomes even brighter. It is the earliest bicolor tomato showing anthocyanin expression. The fruits are flattened “tablet” shaped with striking color transitions from dark to bright orange. The fruits look like little bulbs — their bright “suns” can be seen from afar!
The plant reaches up to 1.4 meters tall in open ground, sturdy, with 4-5 fruits per cluster. The taste of these tomatoes is simply delightful: the flesh is two-toned, buttery, very juicy, and melts in the mouth, with sweetness and flavor qualities rated top-notch! An excellent variety deserving the highest praise for both its beauty and taste.
