BLUE PITTS. A tall indeterminate variety up to 1.8 m high. This is a new variety by Tom Wagner, introduced to the public in 2012. The plant is vigorous, with regular foliage, requiring staking and training. The yield is good, with fruiting continuing from mid-season until the first frost. The fruits are cherry type, weighing 20-40 g, round. The color is orange-red with characteristic blue-violet shoulders.
Before ripening, the fruits are green, then acquire a purple hue; the intensity of the blue coloration increases with good sunlight. The flesh is crisp and juicy. The taste is pleasant, balanced, with moderate sweetness. The variety is suitable for fresh consumption, salads, and decorative presentation.
