BRANDYWINE PAWER'S STRAIN, USA. Mid-season, tall-growing, high-yielding variety, known since 1880. It could probably be planted near a porch for decorative purposes — it is so beautiful. Very large potato leaves without a single spot of disease. Beautiful pink fruits without spots or cracks, and the yield is simply fantastic. This Brandywine strain first appeared in 1994, probably by mistake.
It still appears under this name in the SSE catalog (2006, 2007). According to Dr. Carolyn Male, in the SSE yearbook this variety was listed by Roger Ventling from Pennsylvania simply as Brandywine. The fruits are very meaty, firm, pleasantly aromatic, and of excellent taste. We received the seeds of this tomato from France.
