BRUTUS MAGNUM, USA. A wonderful variety, also known as Brutus Maximum! Mountains of huge, beautiful, very tasty, and impressive fruits. With yield regulation and proper care, the fruits of this variety can exceed 1 kg in weight. The plant is vigorous, about 1.5 meters tall. Clusters bear 3-4 flat-round fruits. The fruits are ribbed, multi-chambered, meaty, deep red in color, and have amazing flavor qualities. Excellent flavor balance.
The variety originated in the USA, bred by Marv Meisner, and was featured in the 2013 Seed Savers Yearbook. Large, round red fruits, more or less deeply ribbed on 2/3 of the surface, weighing up to 2 kg. under favorable growing conditions. The flesh is meaty, similar to beefsteak, with very few seeds. Harvest in the second half of the season. Performs well in cold or short-season regions. Thick-stemmed plant, regular leaf, indeterminate growth.
