YELLOW STRIPED CARMELLA'S (CARMELLA'S YELLOW STRIPES), USA. This tomato variety is a rare family heirloom, presumably originating from Kentucky, USA. It has only recently become available to the public but has already attracted the attention of heirloom tomato enthusiasts. The plant is tall, indeterminate type, reaching up to 1.8 meters in height. It requires staking and pruning.
This is a mid-season variety — fruits start to ripen approximately 110-120 days after germination. The fruits are large, weighing between 300 and 600 grams, and can be even bigger with proper care. They are flat-round in shape, slightly ribbed. The skin is bright orange with red stripes, giving the tomatoes a very attractive appearance.
TASTE QUALITIES
The flesh is meaty and juicy, with a rich sweet flavor reminiscent of honey. Ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for making salads, juices, and sauces.
