CHUPA-CHUPS. A semi-determinate (about 1.2 m tall), mid-season, high-yielding tomato variety, suitable for both open ground and covered cultivation. Plants are neat, well-leafed, and resistant to adverse weather conditions. Fruits are attractive, weighing between 150 and 300 grams, round or slightly flattened in shape. The skin is bright pink or deep orange with characteristic anthocyanin (blue) shoulders, which appear more prominently when fruits are exposed to sunlight. The flesh may show pink or raspberry marbling, though in some fruits, yellow tones dominate. The flesh is meaty, juicy, and aromatic.
The flavor is rich, spicy-sweet, and high in natural sugars — one of the best for fresh eating. The taste is bright, well-balanced, and consistently rated a solid “5+”. This variety is prized for its decorative look, excellent flavor, and high productivity. Note that the variety is unstable in coloring: depending on growing conditions, weather, and ripeness, the flesh may be predominantly pink or more yellowish. The fruit in the photo was picked at the end of the season and displays the most intense red interior. Despite the variation in color, the taste remains outstanding.
