COEUR ROSE DE PESSAC STRIE (PINK STRIPED HEART OF PESSAC). An indeterminate, mid-season variety that produces a strong, well-foliated plant. In open ground, it can reach a height of up to 1.8 meters. It is heat-tolerant and sets fruit well even under challenging weather conditions. Fruits are very large, weighing between 300 and 480 g, with a heart shape. Broad at the shoulders and elegantly tapering to a pointed tip.
The shape is considered one of the most beautiful among large-fruited tomatoes. The skin is a deep raspberry-pink with striking golden stripes, which become especially visible in sunlight. The fruits look not only appetizing but artistically stunning. The flesh is dense, meaty, and at the same time very juicy. The flavor is rich, intense, with excellent sweetness and subtle fruity notes. Virtually no acidity, with a distinctive, old-fashioned tomato aftertaste.
VARIETY HISTORY
The variety was developed by Jean-Pierre Thézérot (Pessac, France). It emerged as a spontaneous mutation of the well-known "Coeur Rose de Pessac" (Pink Heart of Pessac), which itself was created by Jean-Pierre Thézérot from the "Rose de Pessac" variety. This makes it a selection line of noble French origin with a beautiful story. Excellent for fresh consumption, juices, sauces, and summer salads. Perfect for lovers of rare, original, and flavorful tomatoes — as well as collectors and gourmet growers.
