CUBAN SALAMI. A rare and unusual tomato variety that likely appeared as a result of accidental or intentional cross-pollination. One of its "parents" is thought to be the famous and widely loved "Cuban Pepper-Shaped" tomato. This variety is known for its high ornamental value and excellent flavor qualities. The plant is indeterminate (tall-growing), strong and resilient, and reaches a height of 1.6-1.8 meters in open ground. It has good leaf coverage; the bushes are vigorous and require staking and pruning. It is mid-season — the first fruits can be harvested around 110-115 days after germination. A true exotic gem for gourmet lovers and collectors!
Fruits have an unusual heart-to-pear shape, weighing 100-150 grams, fleshy, nearly seedless, with dense yet juicy and melting flesh. At full maturity, the skin is green-olive with burgundy and purple streaks and stripes, sometimes with a light anthocyanin blush on the shoulders. Inside, it’s a true gem: a multi-layered marbled structure with deep red and raspberry tones interlaced with green flashes. The flavor is very sweet, fruity, with a subtle spicy note and no acidity — perfect for fresh eating and salads. Thanks to its dense flesh and minimal seeds, it’s also ideal for sauces and thick tomato preserves.
