DE BARAO GIANT RED. A time-tested mid-late indeterminate variety, deservedly considered one of the best among plum-shaped tomatoes for universal use. It is distinguished by high stability, powerful growth, and exceptionally high yield. The plant is tall, vigorous, reaching 2-3 meters, with a well-developed root system and a strong stem. The bush forms long clusters with uniform, even fruits and is capable of fruiting until late autumn. Requires mandatory support and bush shaping (preferably into 1-2 stems). The fruits are large for their type, oval-plum shaped, of a saturated red color, weighing 150-300 g.
The flesh is dense, meaty, with a minimal number of seeds; the skin is strong and does not crack. The tomatoes have a juicy, sweet, harmonious taste with a pronounced tomato aroma, and retain their shape perfectly during processing. The variety is valued for its very high yield — under favorable conditions, 10-20 kg of fruit per bush can be obtained. The fruits store well, transport excellently, and retain their marketable appearance, making the variety suitable for both personal use and the market.
- Ripening period: mid-late, 115-125 days.
- Fruits: red, oval, dense.
- Taste: sweet, juicy, aromatic.
- Yield: high, up to 20 kg per bush.
Ideal for pickling and whole-fruit canning, preparation of sauces, pastes, ketchups, as well as for fresh consumption and fresh market sales. The variety is distinguished by stress resistance, cold hardiness, tolerates temperature fluctuations well, and is resistant to adverse weather conditions. Cultivation by the seedling method in open ground is recommended, as well as under film covers. Regular suckering, moderate watering, and timely feeding.
