DIAMANTE OPPEDISANO (BRILLIANT OPPEDISANO). An excellent mid-season tomato variety originating from the USA, named after Domenico Oppedisano. According to available information, the variety was brought to America from Yugoslavia before the start of World War II. Since the 1960s, it has been actively grown and preserved by the family of Michel Abbattista, which helped ensure its survival and spread. The plant is vigorous: strong bushes reaching up to 1.6 meters in height, requiring pruning and staking. The variety is mid-season with a long fruiting period, providing abundant and stable yields throughout the season.
The fruits are large and very large — from 300 to 600 g, with some specimens reaching up to 1 k. under good care. The shape of the tomatoes is heart-shaped with distinctive ribs, and the color is a rich red. The flesh is extremely meaty, dense, almost seedless, and contains little juice. The flavor is rich, sweet, and almost acid-free — ideal for fresh consumption as well as for making thick sauces, paste, and winter preserves. This is not only a tasty and meaty tomato but also a reliable, high-yielding variety that will delight you with quality fruits throughout the summer. Small fruits are practically absent, making this variety especially valuable for processing.
