DWARF GRAIL. Mid-season variety. The fruits are purple with neon stripes and streaks across the entire surface. The shape ranges from round to round-elongated, similar to a plum. The flesh is deep purple, aromatic, with thick walls and large seed chambers. The taste is very bright and rich, a well-balanced mix of acidity and sweetness, and very meaty. The plant reaches 1.0 meter in height, is strong, determinate (tree-type), and highly productive.
Very prolific and easy to grow. The plants are determinate with large light green leaves. In open ground, they do not exceed 60 cm in height. Few side shoots, but an abundance of fruit. The fruits are elongated-heart-shaped with ribbing, dark raspberry in color with green and bronze stripes and a bronze sheen. When cut open, they are purple with green tones, very sweet, juicy, and flavorful.
Fruit weight is 100–160 g. Mid-season. Does not require pruning. “A young variety that has already made a name for itself. Performed well in all respects, even during the challenging 2022 season. It’s not officially listed in the Dwarf Tomato Project releases, but visually, Grail is a typical Dwarf.”
DWARF SERIES
Tomato varieties of the "Dwarf" group are unique cultivars known for their compact size, ornamental appearance, and resilience to adverse conditions. They were developed as part of the international Dwarf Tomato Project, launched in 2006. These varieties have a range of distinct features:
- Compact plant size. Plant height ranges from 50 to 120 cm, making them ideal for growing in pots, containers, and small gardens. Plants are sturdy and do not require complex staking thanks to thick, strong stems.
- Determinate growth habit. Most varieties have limited vertical growth, making them easy to care for. Despite their compact size, they produce fruit over a long and even period.
- Diverse fruit shapes and colors. Dwarf tomatoes come in many shapes: round, plum-shaped, ribbed, and heart-shaped. The color palette includes red, pink, yellow, orange, purple, green, striped, and bicolored fruits.
- Stress resistance. Well adapted to heat, wind, and short-term drought. Less susceptible to fungal diseases due to strong plant structure.
