DWARF GRAMMA ELSIE. A distinctive and flavorful dwarf tomato variety, officially introduced by Victory Seed Company for the 2025 season. This attractive cultivar from the Dwarf Tomato series is valued for its reliable productivity, unique fruit coloration, and bright, memorable flavor. The variety is mid-season. Plants are compact, growing up to 1.0 m (about 3.3 ft) tall, with rugose, potato-leaf–type foliage. The bushes are sturdy, well-leafed, and set fruit generously, making them ideal for open ground, greenhouses, and container growing alike. Fruits are round, uniform, and smooth, with a beautiful pale yellow color, weighing 60-120 g. Tomatoes are firm yet juicy, holding their shape well.
The flavor is very pleasant and distinctive—sweet, with a refreshing lemony tang that adds brightness without sharp acidity. Tasting score: 5 out of 5, which makes this variety especially appealing to lovers of unusual and refined tomato flavors. The story behind the variety is equally noteworthy. Dwarf Gramma Elsie was developed when Craig LeHoullier crossed Yellow White with Dwarf Jade Beauty, resulting in the “Leafy” line within the Dwarf Tomato Project. Further selection and development were carried out by Susan Oliverson together with Craig, who named the variety in honor of their grandmother. Seed multiplication was handled by Bill Minkey, after which the seeds were passed to Mike Dunton.
