DWARF HANNAH'S PRIZE, USA. Mid-season determinate variety, distinguished by compact, tree-like growth and vibrant, flavorful fruits. Plants exhibit the classic dwarf “tree-type” habit with rugose, regular foliage — vigorous yet well-suited for containers and small spaces. Fruits are stunning: variegated red with bright orange stripes, round beefsteak-shaped, slightly flattened at the poles, and moderately ribbed at the shoulders.
Depending on size, shoulders can be more or less rounded. Each fruit weighs between 150 and 450 grams, with juicy, meaty flesh and a dense yet tender texture. The flavor is a standout — bold, rich, tangy, and well-balanced, with a mild, pleasant aroma. Ideal for slicing, salads, and fresh eating. In some cases, especially noted by international growers, fruits may display green striping on the red background, adding extra visual appeal.
BREEDING HISTORY & ORIGIN
A relatively new variety developed between 2005 and 2017, as part of the “Softy” breeding line under the larger Dwarf Tomato Project. Seeds were originally sourced in Germany, and the variety has since earned recognition for its ornamental value and culinary excellence.
