DWARF LEPRECHAUN SASHA. An experimental collector variety from a line developed through the cross-pollination of VT-16 × Dwarf DSA, bred by Tatjana Naglė. This is a highly productive, attractive and flavorful dwarf variety that combines a compact plant with beautiful heart-shaped fruits in an unusual chocolate-burgundy coloration. It is a mid-season, high-yielding variety. In open ground, the plant usually reaches around 0.8 m in height, while in a greenhouse it can grow up to 1.2 m. The bush is strong and compact, develops well and is capable of producing a large number of fruits.
Thanks to its compact height, the variety is convenient for growing in small gardens, greenhouses and other spaces where efficient use of growing area is important. The fruits are predominantly heart-shaped, weighing approximately 100–200 g, with an attractive chocolate-burgundy color. Dark anthocyanin “shoulders” may develop on the upper part of the fruits, giving the tomatoes a particularly decorative appearance. The variety is still at an experimental stage, so individual plants may produce fruits with some variation in shape and color intensity. An interesting choice for collectors who appreciate new breeding lines, compact plants and high productivity.
