DWARF LEPRECHAUN SERYOZHA. An experimental collector line developed by Latvian breeder Tatjana Naglė, obtained through segregation of the VT-16 Brown × Dwarf DSA combination. This is a highly productive, colorful and unusual dwarf variety that attracts attention not only with its decorative fruits but also with its rich flavor. The plant is determinate, strong and compact, reaching approximately 0.8–1.2 m in height. It is a mid-early variety suitable for growing both outdoors and in greenhouses. The plant is relatively easy to grow and, under favorable conditions, can produce a large number of fruits throughout the season. Fruit weight is approximately 100–200 g.
The fruits are highly unusual and variable in shape, ranging from pear-shaped and heart-shaped to plump plum-shaped forms. The main color of ripe fruits is burgundy-chocolate, complemented by yellow-orange flecks, greenish-emerald stripes and dark anthocyanin coloration around the stem end. For a good harvest, it is recommended to grow the plant with 3–4 stems. The flesh is juicy and aromatic, while the seeds are surrounded by a characteristic green gel. The flavor is very rich, sweet and intense, with a bright taste that literally bursts on the palate. As this is an experimental line, the offspring may show variations in fruit shape and coloration.
