DWARF LEPRECHAUN VOVA. A collector tomato variety from the popular “Leprechaun” series, developed by Latvian breeder Tatjana Naglė. The variety was created as a result of experimental work involving cross-pollination of VT-16 Brow and Dwarf DSA. The combination of a compact growth habit, unusual fruit coloration and excellent flavor makes it an interesting addition to a collection of rare tomatoes. The plant is determinate, compact and strong, forming a sturdy dwarf-type bush approximately 0.8–1.1 m tall. This is a mid-season variety that performs well in open ground and produces fruit reliably.
Its compact size also makes it suitable for smaller gardens and limited growing spaces. The fruits are medium to large for a dwarf variety, weighing approximately 100–200 g, with a meaty texture and very attractive appearance. When fully ripe, the coloration may combine dark pink, chocolate and purple shades with olive or darker overtones, giving each tomato a unique appearance. Some fruits on one plant were observed to develop anthocyanin coloration, although this trait is not present in the original description.
Under favorable growing conditions, the plant can produce a good crop over an extended period. The flesh is dense, juicy and aromatic. The flavor is sweet, rich and well balanced, without excessive acidity. The tomatoes are excellent for fresh salads, slicing, sandwiches and making thick homemade sauces. Dwarf Leprechaun Vova is an interesting choice for growers who appreciate unusual colors, compact varieties and collectible tomatoes.
