DWARF LEPRECHAUN ZHENYA. A mid-season collector tomato variety from the series LEPRECHAUN, created by Latvian breeder Tatjana Naglė. The variety forms a compact, strong determinate plant reaching about 1–1.2 m in height. Thanks to its compact size, the variety is suitable not only for open ground and greenhouses, but also for container growing and limited spaces. The fruits have an unusual elongated plum-like shape, approximately 10–15 cm long, often with a characteristic small nose. The average fruit weight is around 50–100 g, although smaller fruits weighing 20–60 g were also observed during the early stages of selection.
For good productivity, it is recommended to grow the plant with 3–4 stems. The coloration is particularly distinctive: chocolate-burgundy with metallic or light stripes running across the entire surface, giving the fruits a highly decorative appearance. The ripe fruits have chocolate-reddish to deep burgundy flesh that is juicy and tender. The flavor is sweet and rich, with characteristic smoky notes that make it unusual and distinctive. Dwarf Leprechaun Zhenya originated from the cross Jackpot × Big White Blues and is an interesting choice for collectors who appreciate compact plants, unusual fruit coloration and distinctive flavor.
