DWARF MR. SNOW, USA. This variety was introduced in 2011. It is medium-height (up to 1.2 m.), mid-season, productive, with potato leaf foliage. It has a rich, well-balanced flavor — a solid five out of five. The fruits are round, weighing between 150 and 350 g., dense, meaty, and moderately juicy. The taste is an appealing balance of sweetness and acidity. Fruit color is yellowish-white with pink tops and radiating stripes.
It is one of the results of crossing ‘Golden Dwarf Champion’ with ‘Green Giant’ (hybrid Sneezy (Atchoum) F1). The fruits are large, beefsteak-type, slightly flattened, with a distinct curved stem and ribbed surface. The skin is white, developing a pink blush on the top when fully ripe. The flesh is very firm and rich, with a sweet, complex flavor.
The plant has a dwarf “tree-like” growth habit — sturdy stem, potato leaves, and indeterminate growth. Excellent productivity in mid-season. Performs especially well in pots and containers. Like other tomatoes in the series, it is resistant to many diseases, including late blight. Recommended for compact growing spaces.
DWARF TOMATO SERIES
Dwarf tomatoes offer a number of advantages that make them popular with gardeners, especially those with limited space:
- Compactness: Dwarf plants typically have short stature and a compact root system. Ideal for growing on balconies, terraces, or in containers.
- Disease resistance: Many dwarf varieties show increased resistance to common tomato diseases, such as late blight.
- Easy care: Due to their compact size, they require less staking and pruning than tall varieties, saving time and effort.
- High yield: Despite their small size, dwarf tomatoes can be very productive when well cared for.
- Variety: A wide range of dwarf varieties exist, with fruit in many colors and flavors — from classic red to unusual pink, purple, or even green.
- Weather tolerance: These tomatoes are often more tolerant of heat or cool weather.
- Extended fruiting: Many dwarf varieties fruit for an extended period from mid-summer to autumn.
