DWARF NUMBAT. A variety of Australian breeding developed as part of the international Dwarf Tomato Project. The variety was selected by Australian Ray South from the "Quirky" family (a cross between 'Green Zebra' and 'Cheeky') and released in 2020. This is a mid-season and very high-yielding variety of dwarf tomatoes. The plant is sturdy and compact, reaching a height of 0.6 to 0.8 meters in open ground. The leaves are of regular type, slightly wrinkled, creating a neat canopy and facilitating plant care. The fruits of this variety are medium-sized, round in shape, weighing from 80 to 130 grams.
The color is light green with a slight yellowish tinge and characteristic green stripes, making them resemble one of the parents - the famous 'Green Zebra' variety. The tomatoes are moderately dense and have good keeping quality, are meaty and juicy. The flesh has a fresh greenish hue with a slight tartness and rich flavor, making the fruits versatile for fresh consumption, preparing salads, slicing, and other culinary purposes. The 'Dwarf Numbat' variety will be an excellent choice for gardeners who appreciate compact plants with original coloring and high taste qualities of the fruits.
