GNOМ PIT VIPER. A medium-early variety from the "dwarf" series. The plant has an average yield, is easy to grow, and requires no special care or pruning. It reaches a height of up to 0.6 m in open ground. Each cluster contains 3-4 fruits weighing 65-70 g. The flesh of the fruit is incredibly beautiful: around a chocolate-bronze border, the center of the fruit is bright green! The taste is fruity, sweet, yet balanced with acidity, very delicious.
Highest rating for the ultra-bright flesh! Blaine Horton's variety. Medium-growing, medium-early, disease-resistant. Yield is average. The plant is compact with wide, potato-like leaves. The fruits are round, red-brown, weighing 150 g. The flesh is brownish-green with a pink center, very sweet, with a fruity flavor, rated 5 out of 5.
HISTORY OF THE "DWARF" VARIETIES
In 2006, an international project called the Dwarf Tomato Project was launched. The organization was created in response to requests from amateur gardeners who wanted to grow tomatoes in small spaces, those looking to make the most of small gardens, terraces, patios, or balconies for tomato cultivation. Key features:
-
Attractive, productive, with a height of up to 140 cm, depending on the variety.
-
All cultivars are true varieties, not hybrids.
-
Dark, dense, wrinkled foliage with a thick central stem.
-
Fruits of various sizes and shapes, including large ones weighing up to 500 g.
-
A wide range of flavor profiles: sweet, spicy, fruity, salty – something for every taste.
-
Fruit colors include: red, green (when ripe), bi-colored, striped, black (purple or brown), pink, yellow, orange, and ivory.
-
Dwarfs are easy to grow in pots, on balconies, or other small spaces.
