DWARF SHIMOFURI. An original creation by a participant of the gardening forums Doc’s and Katie’s Xanadu and Helpful Gardener — a rare and truly decorative variety from the series of dwarf tomatoes. This is the first known variety in which the variegated coloring of leaves and stems is combined with the ability to grow the plant in an ampelous (hanging) form. Already at the seedling stage, the bush looks unusual and attracts attention, and in its adult state, it becomes a real decoration for hanging baskets, balconies, and terraces. The variety is early-ripening, very high-yielding, and bears fruit abundantly throughout the season.
The plant's height is 60-70 cm. When grown in pots, this measurement essentially becomes the length of the trailing shoots, forming a beautiful cascade. The fruits are pink, plum-shaped with a neat "tip," weighing 10-35 g. The tomatoes are meaty and dense, with thin skin. Despite their compact size, they are juicy, sweet, and have a rich "real" tomato taste. The variety is recommended for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices and sauces. Thanks to its decorative foliage and neat fruit clusters, "Dwarf Shimofuri" is equally valued as both an edible and an ornamental plant.
