AUNTIE SWARLO'S POLISH PLUM. A family heirloom from the state of Illinois. Indeterminate, grows 80 cm to 1 meter tall, mid-early variety. The red fruits surprise with their varying sizes — some are neatly elongated, others suddenly "swell up" as if several tomatoes merged into one, forming fruits weighing 300-700 g, up to 1 kg, and they’re not hollow inside!
Solid, tasty flesh, excellent flavor rated 5+. Suitable for fresh consumption and all kinds of winter preserves! Fruits until frost. An outstanding variety. Introduced by Bill Minkey (USA). Mid-season. Best grown in 1-2 stems — otherwise, the fruits may be smaller. The plant produces clusters along its entire height, with 3-4 bright red fruits in each.
FRUITS AND FLAVOR
The most valuable trait: even large fruits ripen fully. Despite their huge size, they don’t have hard shoulders or fibrous interiors. Amazing tomatoes from Poland! The Polish Plum, even with its giant size, has virtually no hollowness inside, except perhaps a tiny cavity at the top, which doesn’t affect the overall flavor.
Fruit shape may be plum-like, heart-plum-like, or even round with longitudinal ribs. The flesh is dense, seed cavities are small and few, and seeds are even fewer. The flavor is meaty and fragrant, bright, sweet with a light tang, juicy, and very tasty! Top marks for beauty! Highly recommended!
