SHERRY'S SWEET HEART. A mid-season, tall, and high-yielding tomato variety. The plants are vigorous, with drooping foliage, and in open ground can grow over 1.5 m tall, requiring staking and pruning. Fruits are large, weighing from 200 to 400 g or more, fleshy, firm, yet juicy. The color is delicate pink, the shape is predominantly heart-like without a sharp tip, sometimes with broader “shoulders.” Flavor quality is outstanding. The flesh is tender, sweet, with a rich, well-balanced taste. In the 2019 season, this variety was recognized as the sweetest tomato and was awarded the maximum tasting score of 5 points.
It was bred by the renowned American breeder Brad Gates (USA, 2015), based on old archival lines that were renewed and improved for stable yields and excellent flavor. Fruits ripen uniformly, which makes harvesting easier. The variety is universal in use – due to its meaty texture and sweetness, it is perfect for fresh eating, salads, sauces, and also for processing into juice or paste. Recommended for open-field cultivation.
