EVERETT'S RUSTY OXHEART. A rare variety with unverified origins. Tall, mid-early, very productive. The plant is indeterminate, with moderate vigor and regular foliage, requiring staking and pruning. It performs particularly well in the second half of the season and is adapted to regions with hot and dry climates. The fruits are heart-shaped, sometimes round-flattened, weighing 150-400 g.
The color is dark red with bronze ("rusty") shoulders. The appearance is unusual and striking. The flesh is green with pink and yellow hues, very juicy, tender, with a creamy texture. The taste is fruity, rich, with a light sweetness and complex hints reminiscent of dark bicolors. The variety is valued for its original coloration and rich flavor, suitable for fresh consumption and salads.
